Kawaii is a Japanese cultural uniqueness that attracts attention around the world. It has been considered as an important
value that increases impressions on various products. Since 2017, we have conducted our research on fashion and investigate kawaii fashion trends in Japan as well as international luxury brands. Our recent study introduces deep learning as a new approach to classify fashion images. This paper introduces our model construction for classifying luxury fashion brands using deep convolutional neural network. The results demonstrate high accuracy in classifying luxury fashion images, suggesting potential for employing our model in our future work of positioning kawaii styles into multi-dimensional luxury fashion space. This study aims to contribute to the design of kawaii products for the Japanese fashion industry, targeting not only domestic but also international markets.
